updates

#7- yes, i am keeping my address book up to date, so i’m just going to consider this COMPLETE!

#13- i’m working on organizing and printing my digital photos, but its taking some time. i really hope that i get to finish this before the 101 in 1001 goal project is over.

speaking of that, there is LESS than a year before my first 101 in 1001 goal will be finished. way too quick how did i get to the point where there is less than a year left in this project?

#28- here is another goal i’m just going to consider finished: support local artists, businesses, etc. i’ve found that the goals that work well for me in this project are measurable ones. how can i just keep reading over this goal every time i look to write an update. i honestly try to support all things local as often as possible, and i do well with following through. so for this project, this is also being considered complete. its not that i am going to stop doing local stuff at all, i’ll keep on keeping on. but its silly to try to track it.

#29- support one new to me independent business per month:
june- waterside grill on the docks in east greenwich, ri
july- lake pearl in foxborough,ma & the liquor store in mystic,ct
august- D&G deli in westwood, ma
september- sapphire in twin river- lincoln, ri
october- illsington pizza

#62 and 65- i’m soon to begin my final month of nablopomo. i’m going to attempt nanowritmo (i know, i know- shoot me. i’m overwhelming myself) so i’m hoping to actually succeed but i understand i’m setting myself up here. so lets all keep our fingers crossed. i’ll probably be putting all the info on my other blog, (which is brand new, have you checked it out yet?) so catch me over there…

#69- my 14th letter (of the 100 i plan on writing to friends) was to my friend stephan.

dumping info all over this blog.

gosh. i doubt i even have any readers anymore. its been so long since i updated…plus, i moved my blog over from blogger to wordpress in october, so i’m sure that change left a few people in the dust.
is anybody out there, or am i writing this just for myself?

anyway, i’ll give you an update, but there are some better updates coming (with pictures!)

#9 i have been continuously organizing the pile of bills i have sitting around. i just don’t seem to devote enough time to doing this though. so after i put a few things away, i end up making more piles. ugh. one day.

# 13. same goes for organizing and printing my digital photos! this goal might take me a lifetime to complete! if anything it just makes me want to delete half of the pictures on my computer just so i can be done sorting through them.

# 16. i seriously thought i made a friend who was over the age of 70…but then i learned this person was only 60. i was wayyyy off. oh well, i’ve just got to keep trying.

# 62. i tried to accomplish an actual nablopomo in both november and december. total fail! in november i got sick and almost missed the day’s deadline a thousand times. i barely tried. in december i gave it another shot, and i was kicking ASS! and then one day (i think the 14th?) i totally forgot to post and didn’t realize it until i went to post the day after that (the 15th?) so yeah. big failure on my part. oh well, i need to do 2 more to complete this goal, so hopefully i can actually complete one of those 🙂

#66. today i am officially on day #292 of my grace in small things challenge. you can check out the specifics on my other blog.

#74. hmm, recapping: in 2009 i attended 5 red sox games at fenway park. 2 i already wrote about on this blog (april 17 and may 8). on 9/8 i brought my best friend to fenway for a “three days after my birthday sox game” on 9/16 i went to fenway with my grandfather and we sat right on the side of pesky pole!!! it was fantastic 🙂 it could possibly be one of my top 5 fenway experiences. then on 10/1 i went with another good friend to fenway. it was only her 2nd time! plus every game i call her during “sweet caroline” so to actually be there and sing it with her was PRICELESS! she will absolutely be attending with me again this year! anyway for 2010 i bought tickets to 5 games so far. i might sell 1-2 of those games depending on whats happening in my world. i also absolutely want to drive down to baltimore and watch the sox play down there too. so i guess i’ll just have to keep you updated.

75. i’ve been in the process of applying to grad school again. it makes me want to vomit. i should have all my applications sent out by feb 1, 2010 which means i need to seriously work my ass off this month, because they still need a lot of work.

80. i’ve been attempting to wear red lipstick lately. i’ll totally try to post a picture soon.

88. and 91. i’ve been working my ass off so that i can finally say i’ve paid off all my credit cards and my car. although…its the holidays and i had to buy xmas presents. that doesn’t mean i still didn’t kick ass at paying the bills. it just means it’s still a hard process. my credit cards should be paid off in full by the end of august 2010 if i can simply stick with my plan…and not charge any more! so i guess that means 8 more months of being broke!

its time…

i know, i know, i know… i’ve neglected my posting to my 101 list.
i’ve been working on the list, but i’ve just been a bum about posting things.

forgive me?

i finished cataloguing all the books i own. i own 324. i’ve yet to read 225. seriously? damn. i’ve got quite a few books to read.

#thirteen
so i’m supposed to work on organizing my pics on my computer, printing them and putting them into albums. can you believe i printed like 800 pictures. SERIOUSLY! no exaggerating. and that was like 1/14th % of the photos i own. ugh this is going to be such a daunting task. hopefully i will be finished with it by the time this project is over.

#twenty seven
i failed. AGAIN. gosh.
i said i wanted to go to the drive in at least once per summer. i did not go to the drive in at all this entire summer (i suck) so because i am trying very hard to be honest with this list, then i’ve got to admit that i failed at my second item. boo.

#twenty nine
support a new-to-me local independent business at least once per month. this month i went to this place called lusitannos for my next bride’s wedding shower. it was beautiful and i had a marvelous time. i also went to a new-to-me local independent business in virginia (hey, i used to be a local there) called yorgos. its ridiculous that i lived there and never ate there. i also frequented my regular local hot spots while i was down there. and finally, i ate at cafe dolce vitta last night in providence. LOVED it!!

#forty eight
i brought up the idea of doing a small stuff swap at 20SB. i got a decent response. but i honestly expected much more. it kind of bummed me out. but i’m going to stay positive. i need to get the ball rolling and get this project started.

#eighty eight
still paying those damn credit cards.

keep on truckin’

ola amigos
here is a quick update..

#6:
i’ve been trying to simplify my life. and organize. all at the same time. so a of right now, i am working on my 5th bag of stuff to donate to charity.

#7:
while i have yet to buy an address book… i have updated my contact info in outlook on my computer. so, when i actually get a book to write all this stuff in, it will be an easy task to complete.

#13:
i have done a pretty damn good job of organizing some pictures on my computer. and that makes me very happy. i have a GILLION pictures, so i feel like this is a project i would love to finish soon. i’m sick of organizing pics. i just want them organized, printed out and then put in photo albums once and for all. but i still have a little while to go.

#18:
i’ve eaten at another new-to-me restaurant. a couple weeks ago me and michaela went to a restaurant we’ve both been wanting to check out: temple. it was nice. i wasn’t head over heels for the food…but it was pretty good. the atmosphere however was incredible! it had private booths and candles hanging from the ceiling instead of lights. i loved it.

#20:
so obviously i didn’t go camping this month, or i would have written about it. so i took that out of italics. there’s always next summer.

#24:
for part of my soon to be sister-in-laws bachelorette party, we’re taking her to a nearby vineyard for a tasting in two weeks. which is super exciting because it is one of the vineyards in the tour i want to do for goal #24 yay! more on this later.

#29:
my one new to me place per month for july will be a bar called the belmont. its got a lot of character. dark wood, low ceilings, lots of leather and a dim atmosphere. i might have made is sound creepy, but its actually rather chill.

#47:
yeah, not much to say. i have been crazy busy preparing for my brother’s wedding, and the time capsule project is totally falling behind. i don’t want to give up on this project though, because i really want to get this done. so, hmm. i don’t know what to do about it, but i am sure i will figure it out.

#63:
yesterday was my 30th weekly journal entry…at least i can keep up with something.

#66:
just finished my 135th grace in small things entry. i am kicking ass on those entries.

#70:
i’ve finished another book: “if i had my life to live over/i would pick more daisies” a compilation of stories and poetry about being a girl or woman at all stages of life. it was rather beautiful. the title is something that really motivates me. maybe i should ruminate on that and write something of my own. the only thing is…i really need to recount the books i own. i can’t remember and i’ve donated some. so its time for a recount.

#85:
i accidentally completed another goal without expecting to. while i am considering it complete, i didn’t bold it on the side just to leave it open again. i dove in my friends swimming pool, but i didn’t do any of my wild dives i used to do because it wasn’t super safe. ha. number 1, i had been drinking and number 2, while the diving board is obviously in the deep end- i’m sure its not as deep as a college pool. so item completed, but hopefully i will still make it somewhere i can really do some wild dives.

#88
ugh. yes, still kicking my ass and paying off those credit cards. and yes, still kicking myself in the ass for even having any debt to begin with.
