its been TOO long… even for me.

hey y’all- so sorry its taking me forever to catch up with everything going on.
i have just been a little busy/stressed so i haven’t been making the time (like i should) to update this list.
so i’m thinking i will do a few quick updates.
here is one:

#10
well, i told you about how i already organized my bookshelves. but now i am currently working on cataloguing all the books i own.
its a pretty daunting task let me tell you!
but i’ve done a good job. I think I have one more shelf to go on one of my bookshelves. and then the whole second bookshelf- but there are much less books in there.
almost done this goal!!

#13
i did do some organizing of the pictures on my computer. but the problem with that is once i realize some photos are in the wrong folder…. it creates a monster because then i find a whole bunch of other messed up folders. you know?! but the good thing is i have been deleting a lot more photos. and actually naming them. i have NO CLUE when this goal will be done, but hopefully soon. i have begun to hate sorting through these pics. i just want to print them all out and put them in albums. and speaking of that…. i printed all the photos from my oldest brother’s wedding, and most of the photos from my other brother’s recent wedding. (i printed out exactly 200 so they could all just go in one album) so happy about that. i guess i’m going in the right direction!

#18
i ate at another new place! on 8/21 the regular friday work lunch crew went to this little diner called highland luncheonette. its right down the street and i’ve driven by it a hundred times in my life, but never managed to eat there! it was good. i got a stuffed quahog and a salad. yummy.

#21
dog training. sign. i believe no one should be able to buy or adopt a dog without bringing her to training classes, lol! the good news is that i found a really good person to train my dog. the bad news. its quite expensive, so i doubt i can afford it until october. one step in the right direction!

#28
i have been supporting the local artists and businesses. i’ve been to a restaurant called tweets, newport vineyards, the country club in my city, that diner i mentioned above, my nail lady and my favorite restaurant in the next city.

#29
i technically went to two completely new places this month. newport vineyards for my sister-in-laws bachelorette party, and highland luncheonette, but because i already mentioned the second one in #18 i will choose newport vineyards to be my one local business/artist for the month of august.

#30
this one is slightly humorous. not if you are me though. i consider #30 to be one of the scariest goals on my list: “ask a stranger out”. i can’t handle it! and yet…i ALMOST did it. but i chickened out (for slightly decent reasons). i’ve been working with this guy who provides a benefit to our staff here at work (so we don’t work together, but deal professionally with each other) and he is pretty hot. i ALMOST worked up the courage to ask him out, until my boss casually asked him how old he was, and he said…. 22!!!!!!!!!! hot damn! now, granted… i am probably only a few years older than him. but I. DO. NOT. DATE. YOUNGER. GUYS. i was totally bummed out. totally.
for my to work up my courage like this is huge, but i don’t want to date a little boy. he just graduated in 2008 and i doubt he has any clue what he is looking for. if i am going to put myself out there, then it has to be for someone who is going in the same direction as i am. and i don’t know what his deal is quite yet. i know its not fair to judge him on his age, but this is very confusing for me.
i guess we will just have to see what happens with this one.

#39
i’ve had QUITE a few bottles of wine since the last post on my cork collecting, but oddly enough they all had twist off caps. (and they weren’t even that cheap!) but last night i decided i wanted to have a glass (or two) of wine while i laid alone in my bed and watched House… so i did. in a very big wine glass.

#63
this is the big shocker.
my first failed item on my list.
son of a… gun.
i guess i am pretty idealistic, because i really didn’t want to completely fail any item. but the time has come to admit that i have. since this summer got a bit hectic with the wedding, etc. i really slacked at my journal writing. i don’t think i wrote anything from the end of july until mid august.
so that means i DIDN’T write in it every single week.
although i really enjoyed the habit of writing in it so regularly, so i am going to try and keep up with it.
but for 101 in 1001 reasons… that item is over.

#66
going strong on listing stuff i am grateful for every single day. its coming pretty natural to me now. kind of like remembering to put on deodorant. today was #169.

#82
i’m going to walk in a 5K. for those who do not know this, my brothers-in-law(ish) were on the 2008 biggest loser show. one of them is doing a second annual 5K walk/run/job for his daughter’s foundation. this ought to be interesting to say the least. it is in october, so more on this later.

#88
i’ve been paying a good chunk on my credit cards, and it is leaving me pretty much penniless! i am so ready to be done with this item, lol ūüôā

#90
using my spreadsheet for all my bills/credit cards info still. in fact… i already have september completely budgeted out.

more (including pictures) later

keep on truckin’

here is a quick update..

#6:
i’ve been trying to simplify my life. and organize. all at the same time. so a of right now, i am working on my 5th bag of stuff to donate to charity.

#7:
while i have yet to buy an address book… i have updated my contact info in outlook on my computer. so, when i actually get a book to write all this stuff in, it will be an easy task to complete.

#13:
i have done a pretty damn good job of organizing some pictures on my computer. and that makes me very happy. i have a GILLION pictures, so i feel like this is a project i would love to finish soon. i’m sick of organizing pics. i just want them organized, printed out and then put in photo albums once and for all. but i still have a little while to go.

#18:
i’ve eaten at another new-to-me restaurant. a couple weeks ago me and michaela went to a restaurant we’ve both been wanting to check out: temple. it was nice. i wasn’t head over heels for the food…but it was pretty good. the atmosphere however was incredible! it had private booths and candles hanging from the ceiling instead of lights. i loved it.

#20:
so obviously i didn’t go camping this month, or i would have written about it. so i took that out of italics. there’s always next summer.

#24:
for part of my soon to be sister-in-laws bachelorette party, we’re taking her to a nearby vineyard for a tasting in two weeks. which is super exciting because it is one of the vineyards in the tour i want to do for goal #24 yay! more on this later.

#29:
my one new to me place per month for july will be a bar called the belmont. its got a lot of character. dark wood, low ceilings, lots of leather and a dim atmosphere. i might have made is sound creepy, but its actually rather chill.

#47:
yeah, not much to say. i have been crazy busy preparing for my brother’s wedding, and the time capsule project is totally falling behind. i don’t want to give up on this project though, because i really want to get this done. so, hmm. i don’t know what to do about it, but i am sure i will figure it out.

#63:
yesterday was my 30th weekly journal entry…at least i can keep up with something.

#66:
just finished my 135th grace in small things entry. i am kicking ass on those entries.

#70:
i’ve finished another book: “if i had my life to live over/i would pick more daisies” a compilation of stories and poetry about being a girl or woman at all stages of life. it was rather beautiful. the title is something that really motivates me. maybe i should ruminate on that and write something of my own. the only thing is…i really need to recount the books i own. i can’t remember and i’ve donated some. so its time for a recount.

#85:
i accidentally completed another goal without expecting to. while i am considering it complete, i didn’t bold it on the side just to leave it open again. i dove in my friends swimming pool, but i didn’t do any of my wild dives i used to do because it wasn’t super safe. ha. number 1, i had been drinking and number 2, while the diving board is obviously in the deep end- i’m sure its not as deep as a college pool. so item completed, but hopefully i will still make it somewhere i can really do some wild dives.

#88
ugh. yes, still kicking my ass and paying off those credit cards. and yes, still kicking myself in the ass for even having any debt to begin with.

huge update. are you ready for this?

well, well, well. can you even believe i let so much time go by without updating you guys on the hard work i have been doing on my goals.

the second place we went to eat in miami¬†was this amazing little italian restaurant in south beach. i¬†think it was on 14th street off of washington ave we didn’t read the menu before we sat down, so we were a little surprised by the price-¬†but in reality it wasn’t too expensive. after we got the food we realized it was completely worth it. WOW. the food was PERFECT i¬†was amazed with everything. and everyone who works there are hardcore¬†italian. the men are fricken¬†gorgeous and i was in love with every single one of them
anyway, we also went to jimmy buffet’s margaritaville¬†in mexico and that was an outrageous time! they had a fresh guacamole “hut” that would come around to your table if you wanted any. WOWEE! best guac. i have ever eaten in my entire life. it was perfect.

the next place was a restaurant/bar on the waterfront in bristol, RI where i¬†got the best rhode¬†island oysters i¬†have had in a while. i¬†also don’t remember the name of this one, but i’m¬†sure i¬†can figure it out soon enough. there are just so many restaurants in that area, that i don’t want to google it and tell you the wrong one!
and then yesterday i¬†went to another RI restaurant. J.D.’s, a “hole in the wall”, aka a family restaurant…amy, sa and i¬†got breakfast there the morning after the new kids on the block concert. i really enjoyed it there as well. the french toast was the best.

#twenty eight:¬†i¬†did a pretty good job supporting local artists. in haiti, i¬†got a bunch of local artwork. statues and masks for the most part. i¬†don’t have any pictures now, so i¬†will try to take some. in jamaica¬†i¬†got some nice jamaican¬†coffee. i¬†also went to watch a friend’s band : dancing nancys at a bar in bristol one night.

#twenty nine:
¬†i¬†guess for may i¬†will chose 11th street diner as my independent business for the month of may because it was my favorite place. for the month of june, my independent business was that cute family restaurant J.D.’s.
#thirty four:¬†i’ve¬†got quite a few pictures to add to my urban alphabet. some on the cruise and some in the countries we visited. and i¬†think there are a few since i¬†have been home. i’m going to put these pics in a separate post because this one is already going to be too long!

#thirty five:¬†i¬†also have more pictures to add to my 100 pictures project. i’m just going to include them on a separate post too.

#thirty nine: i am adding to my cork collection that i will use to make my cork frame. two of the new corks i got on my cruise when amy and i dined and had our favorite waiters, ivan and parag. the other is from friday night at the NKOTB concert.

#forty three: take a picture at least once every two weeks. gosh i have teaken quite a few so far. which is surprising, usually i take one of myself, but it was nice to have a few taken by others.
this one below was taken on may 29 in miami. i¬†am so in love with ami james. too bad i didn’t meet him!
below is from may 30th. it was our first day on the boat. this is my sexy look! haha ya right.this one was taken on june 1st after visiting haiti.
this one was taken later that night.

this picture was taken in mexico on june 4th. we were re-re-routed there. originally we were supposed to go to mexico, but we were re-routed to the bahamas. then we didn’t find out about it being changed back to being mexico until we were on the cruise. so i¬†was so excited because i¬†really wanted to swim with the dolphins there…and i got to!

this one was after the dolphin swimming same day.

this picture also taken on june 4th. i¬†love it because the whole time i¬†was being photographed by the people at the dolphin cove, my eyes were closed or i¬†was making crazy faces because i¬†was paying so much attention to the dolphins…so in the moment that i paid no mind to them!

hmm, i like the casino. this was on june 5th the night before the cruise ended.

this picture was taken by The Bestie as i slept on the plane ride home!

#forty seven: the time has come to kick ass on this time capsule project. i expect it to be complete by september 3rd, because that is when i will be going to virginia, and my birthday will be during that weekend! i obviously am just beginning so i don’t know what i will put in it. i’m going to obviously put in letters people write me, but i also need to find items which commemorate the last 25 years of my life! do any of y’all have any ideas? any suggestions as to when i should open it?#forty nine: i completed another item! i am back from my cruise! here are just a few random pictures.

#fifty seven: here is a picture of my pretty new passport! goal complete!

#sixty three: this week will be my 25th weekly entry. i’m totally loving that i am sticking firmly to this writing weekly schedule. its become more of a habit now. and i did a pretty good job writing in my journal during my cruise. at least for the first few days! haha.

#sixty six: yesterday i completed my 101st grace in small things entry. i am so excited about this. i cannot believe i have done so many of these entries. i feel like this is such a big accomplishment. i wonder what one complete year will feel like.

#sixty nine:¬†my plan on vacation was to write letters to some of my friends on my cruise. i¬†failed that one miserably! ha. didn‚Äôt write any. but that is okay because i¬†know i¬†have one sobby¬†letter to write to my lovely ‚Äúwife‚ÄĚ who is moving with her fiance Cornmuffin¬†to the DC area. i have the feeling that this letter will get me started on writing a few more!

#seventy: i read another of my books which i purchased and never read (i think i have a total of 194 or something like that books to go) i read jodi picoult’s new book which SHE AUTOGRAPHED WHEN I MET HER!

#seventy four:¬†so the goal is to attend 20 more red sox games (before the end of the 1001 days…trust me i¬†would like to attend many more than 20 in my life) i‚Äôve already done two this year (yes, i¬†know i¬†owe you pictures from the second game i¬†went to) i‚Äôm going to go down to baltimore¬†at the end of july¬†to travel and visit My Wife and Cornmuffin¬†and i am definitely going to watch the sox play baltimore¬†when i am there. holla! so that will be my third game of the year. i‚Äôve got tickets for three more games at the end of the season too!

#eighty three: i know i finished this one already, but i added some vitamins to my daily routine. i worked on this goal by taking vitamin D which i am still taking. now i am taking vitamins C and E as well.

#eighty eight: still working hard on this one. the cruise definitely set me back much more than i thought, but i am going to think positive. i was doing an excellent job at this and i will continue to do an excellent job. there is no way i am going to let a negative attitude weigh me down in debt.

#ninety: still downloading all budget stuff into my spreadsheet.

so here goes

# six: after doing a massive cleaning in my apartment, i filled two more huge construction sized bags of clothing, etc. to donate. i gave them to a friend whose agency is going to have a huge yard sale for charity. four down and six more to go!
#eighteen:¬†eat at twenty new to me restuarants. wow, i¬†am really doing fantastic on this goal. i¬†am now 12 out of my goal of 20 restaurants. i¬†will consider this goal completed at 20, but i’d¬†like to see how many i¬†can actually get to by the end of my 1001 days. can i double it? triple it?
here is where i have eaten:
11th street dinner in south beach, miami. this place is absolute HEAVEN! if you go to miami then i recommend this place as a must see! everything tasted perfect and they had such a wide variety of food- and healthy food too. i actually went there twice in my 1.5 days of being there. got a turkey burger, fries and fruit on my first day and french toast, eggs and fruit on the second meal. yummy in my tummy.

well i’ve got some work to do

ola amigos
ready for an update?
#3: http://www.freerice.com/ today i went on and used my knowledge to done 500 more grains of rice. which means so far i have donated 500 of my proposed 100,000 grains of rice. i’ve got a while to go.
#6: my mother so very nicely dropped off my 2 bags of donated goods to the salvation army. (thanks mom!) i’ve still got like 2 more bags to organize and i plan on dropping them off this coming week.
#10: i actually have been organizing my bookshelves. i still have more books to get in there, BUT i actually broke one of my shelves because i have too many books and it was too heavy! ugh. go figure! so hopefully i can finish it this evening, and maybe i will be able to add some pictures tonight too. after i finish then i am going to have to catalogue all my books. yikes. i don’t promise to get that all done this week though.
#18: i did go to another “new to me” restaurant with some of my classmates after class last week. we went to ixtapa which is a mexican restaurant near school. they have excellent sangria there! yummmm.
#21: i’ve done some more research on training for fenway, and found an affordable place to get fenway her training. i just need a little more info and then i am definitely registering her. it will start when i get back from my cruise. i think it starts the end of june.
#28: support local artists: i got my haircut on friday- nothing too exciting because i’ve got a few weddings to be in soon- i don’t think i have included her in this category yet. i’m also hoping to go to a zox concert next weekend. i haven’t seen them in a while. so i’m pretty excited.
i’ve been to a bunch of independent businesses so far. i mentioned above ixtapa, my
hairdressers, my nail salon. i didn’t mention this before (i think) but i consider my business for april would be the book sale i went to at a local library. i actually attended on may 2. but i was originally planning on going april 29, but they opened a day later due to some organizing problems. and i couldn’t make it until the 2nd. so that counted for april. i’d say my major business this month would be the mexican restaurant, ixtapa.
#34: i’ve got a few pictures to put start off my urban alphabet project. this is something i really haven’t kicked off. so i need to work a little more on capturing the alphabet in what i see.

#35: i’ve got a few more pictures for the 100 snapshots project.
#12
growth
#39

#59

#71

#78

#91
desk
(i know i already did desk, but this is just another one.)

#39: i’ve got my second cork for my frame project. it was nothing special. i’ve had a bottle of cabernet savignon i’ve been wanting to try for a little while so i opened it up myself the other night and had a glass while i watched a movie. and guess what. the wine was notttttt good. ha.
#43: i’ve got a new picture for my biweekly pictures.
#47: i’ve decided to start my time capsule project as soon as i get home from the cruise. i want this to be my main goal priority (well along with my GIST project and weekly journal entries!) my 25th birthday is september 5 and i would actually like to “seal” the capsule before my birthday. i will be in VA for my bday, because two of my closest friends are getting married the day after. so instead of prolonging this, i’d like to have it done before i leave. i’m thinking of heading down there on the third possibly. so i’d like to be finished by september 1st, or the 3rd at latest. anyway. i’ll get back from the cruise on the 6th of june, so it gives me less than 3 months to get myself a quarter of a century time capsule. hollur.
#49: my cruise is in 12 days. incredible! i cannot wait to go!
#63: the journal writing is going well. i’ve completed week 20 this weekend. i’m absolutely bringing my journal with me on vacation and i am going to try to write once a day.
#64: since i have almost finished organizing my bookshelves then the next goal i can start on is writing a book review for every book i’ve read (or at least all the books i own). i do not plan on doing all of that at once. one book at a time. i just think i will be able to get a good bunch done this summer.
#66: i just did grace number 67 this morning about my singing life.
#67: i realized i did “join” a writing group. we are called the artichoke writers. its an inside story. it consists of most of my grad class and we’ve already planned the first ever artichoke festival this summer. i’d still like to actually start a reading group and have everyone read a book a month and possibly get together and discuss the book? i watched a movie i really liked last month about a reading group and i think its a great way to read/communicate. but in a sense whether i start a reading group or not…this is another complete item!!!
#69: i’m going to start working on my 100 personal letters to friends while i am on my cruise tanning by the pool!
#70: another goal for vacation is reading a few of the books i own but haven’t read before.
#74: i went to my second red sox game of the year on 5/8. my brother and i actually took my mom because it was her bday that day! and we took my other brother whose bday was in april. it was nice. the ride home was torture cause the boys were cranky and we were STUCK in traffic FOREVER! we won though. my mom was so excited because she has always left before the game ended, and we stayed the whole game. so it was really nice to see her so happy.
#88: obviously i am still kicking ass at paying off my credit cards. although i’m a huge asshole and i’ve bought way too much shit for this cruise that i don’t really need. oh, well. at least i will look hot. and i can’t be too mad at myself. i’ve done a good job getting things at great prices.
#90: yes, i am keeping my budget up to date. it keeps me on track.
#91: and yes, still paying off my car. i do it once a month so i doubt i’m going to keep mentioning it in my updates, lol!

#93: i know i am going to get teased about this one, but… i’m going to look into writing out a “living will” before i go on my cruise. just in case. ha that sounds so morbid, but you never know. its not like i have anything i need to give away…just the security of knowing my medical wishes, etc will be respected. you never know. its never too early to get these things in order!

there are also some things i want to get started working on while on vacation. i know i mentioned most before, but here is a quick round up. #18– eat at restaurants i have never been to before. #26- hopefully i can go to the gordon beirsh brewery in miami. #32– i’d like to photograph a day in my life while on the cruise and then do it again when i get back. i think it would be fun to compare “vacation erin” with “normal erin”! #34– i would love to work on the urban alphabet project while out of america. i think it would be so cool to get some letters in places i may never go to again. #35– i’ll hopefully also be able to take some of my 100 pics while on vacation for the same reason. #43– i’ll get a picture on vacation for my biweekly pictures. #69 i know i mentioned this but i’d like to send some personal letters to friends. and #70 also read some of the books i own. damn this all seems like a lot to do. but i think i’ll be okay.
phew. that was a lot of typing. i cannot wait to update after the cruise. hopefully i will have some pretty darn fantastic pictures!

update

howdy folks.
i’ve got an update for you. i’m doing big things!

#4- send flowers for no reason
i actually did not send anyone flowers since the last update. the reason i am writing about this is because i was actually going to send flowers to someone, but then i realized i had a REASON to send flowers to them. think about it. when sending flowers, there is always a reason. even if you only send them because you happen to be thinking about someone, that is still a reason!!! anyway, next time i think i will be a little easier on myself in regards to sending flowers “for no reason.”

#6- donate 10 bags of clothing, etc to charity
well, i tried to get some spring cleaning done, so as of right now, i’ve got three large trash bags filled with clothing to bring to salvation army. i haven’t brought them because i am thinking i might have one or two bags, and i figured it would be much easier just bringing them all together.

#9- i’m still working on organizing my bills.
not complete because i can only do a little at a time since i am so busy with school, but it is getting there!

#28- support local restaurants, businesses, etc.
well, i brought my niece to newport creamery to get some ice cream. she was having a sleep over at my house, so i did her makeup, let her play with my jewelry and then took her on a date. she loved it!
also, i went with my friends to a restaurant called paragon and a bar called spats. we’ve been to them before, but i am including them because they are still indep. restaurants.
i also got my nails done again, so i supported my nail tech. lol. expensive, expensive, expensive!

#35- i do not have any new pictures for the 100 pics project, but i do actually have a few ideas of pics i would like to take, so i will get started on that soon.

#43- i believe it is definitely time for my bimonthly pictures of myself.

this one above was taken at the red sox game on 4/17/09this one above was taken on 4/25/09 i was in a cleaning fit. def. a spring cleaning moment!

this one was taken today on 4/30/09 at work. thats why i look a mess!

#49- well this item is actually going to be complete next month…I’M GOING ON A CRUISE! how exciting is that? i am beyond stoked. i’m going with my best friend amy. the person she was originally going with wasn’t going to be able to make it, so i’m in! i cannot even believe how cool this is. and i’m so excited, i don’t think i could even express all my excitement. i will be going to haiti, jamaica, grand cayman and the bahamas. originally i was supposed to go to mexico, but they rerouted us to the bahamas. thank goodness. if i got the swine flu, i would probably blog even less than i do now… and i don’t want to do that!

#57- i’ve actually completed another item.
i applied for my passport. i actually had to pay double to expedite my passport, but whatever. i haven’t gotten it in the mail yet, but my check has been cashed and i don’t have any type of criminal record, so i think i will be A okay ūüôā

#62- i tried but i failed!
i did do one of my five nablopomos i wanted to do, but i failed because i missed a day. oh well, i tried. 4 more to go. lets see if i can actually pull off a real completed one before this ends!

#63- i am doing an excellent keeping up with my weekly journal writings. totally getting into a groove, and i can really appreciate looking back and seeing how much i have written. i usually write in a journal for a month or two then a whole year will go by and so many major parts of my life have not been written about. so this weekly thing is keeping me on point!

yes, that is my real journal below.

#66- grace in small things is moving along well.
today i actually wrote the 50th gist out of 365 ūüôā

#74- i went to a red sox game! yay! it was my first game of the season and i loved every single second of it. fenway park is like a second home to me. i feel so good when i am there. and i am going again next week! my brother and i are bringing our mother and other brother to a game on may 8th for their birthday presents. (my mom’s bday is actually the day of the game)

#83- i have completed my 30 straight days of vitamins challenge. so this goal is actually complete as well! i’m still taking the vitamin D until i go get my blood drawn and see the results in a few weeks. so we will see what comes of that!

#88- pay off my credit cards.
well this one is difficult. i actually didn’t get the interest rate i wanted on the loan i applied for, so i decided to just forgo the loan and pay down my cards myself. it was a limited time offer from the bank, and i guess i didn’t submit the application in time, so whatever! but since the last post, i have been doing great paying my loans off. i see a bright future ahead when it comes to getting out of debt. i think it will actually be sooner than i thought if i stick to my budget. the only thing that is screwing me is this cruise. because if you add up all the costs including excursions, miami overnight, booze, shopping, etc. i think i might spend between 1,500 and 2,000. my theory is that i’m not going on this cruise and pinching pennies. i want to go on all the excursions i possibly can…even if they are expensive. it isn’t everyday i get to climb a 600ft waterfall or helmet dive with sting rays. so if i rack up a bill, then so be it. i’m only young once. i just need to stay dedicated to this budget and i’ll have that paid off in no time. plus, i already have about 500 to go towards the trip, so i think i am in good shape ūüėČ

#90- i am doing great keeping up with my spreadsheet for bills and my budget. it is really keeping me on track. so thanks fabulously broke! its working. y’all should check her out.

#91- pay off my car loan
i wanted to introduce this item into my posts, because i am in fact paying my car off every month in this project. i get it payment automatically deducted from y bank account so i’m on track with this item. i was thinking of paying it off quicker by making extra payments, but i won’t do that until i eliminate my debt and save a large emergency fund. the interest rate is so low that i’m not worried about it at all.

and thats all folks! aren’t you so glad you know all these random facts ūüėČ

i am kicking ass…excuse the french ;)

alright folks…
you ready for your update?
first, even though i am probably being too hard on myself, i should say i decided to be “honest” and take some of the things on my list which are currently in italics (which means i am working on them) OUT of italics. i know i am trying to take on a whole bunch at once, but i don’t want to make it look like i am working on things which i really am not. i obviously will get back to work on them… maybe even real soon as i start my spring cleaning… but for now, they are coming out of italics.

those things were:
#10 (organizing bookshelves)
#21 (getting fenway trained)
#40 (vision board)
#64 (writing book reviews)

okay, moving on to some super stupendous news! i finished another item!
#5: leaving a $10 tip for a meal less than $10 dollars.
i didn’t realize yesterday that the bill was “supposed” to be under $10, so i guess if you want to be technical, i didn’t complete this number “correctly.” but then today, when i sat to write this entry, i though. when the hell am i going to go out and spend less than $10 on my bill? umm, i wish. that would be one pretty thing, but i doubt that will happen. so yesterday, i had a real small bill ($16.99) and left a $15.00 dollar tip. our bartender was EXCELLENT, which i barely ever see anymore,, so she deserved it.

okay, so here are the items i am currently working on:
#3 i donated 300 grains for rice. i was bored at work, and it was the end of the day, so i figured, what the heck… lets play some trivia! now i only have 99,700 grains to go!

#18 eat at new to me restaurants… well, i try NOT to go to chain restaurants while working on this number, but i did go to smokey bones this week, and it is a new to me restaurant. actually, this is where i left my $15 tip! also, i went to a restaurant called Fours in boston before the celtics game. wow, what a wait! but the food was pretty good, and there were a lot of hot guys there! so this brings me to 5 out of my 20 restaurants… which means i am 1/4 complete. cool ūüôā

#28 support local independent businesses: i went to somerset creamery, a local amazing ice cream shop about a week ago. i wanted to go on the day they opened, but i missed it and went about a week after they opened…. and i STILL had to wait in a HUGE line!

#29: support one local new to me independent business every month. in march, i went to Depolzelli Bakery to pick up some bakery pizza and treats. the emerson’s were up from GA and it was dave’s birthday, so we went to get him so special treats for his party ūüôā

#35: i started working on my goal to take 100 specific pictures. so far i have completed numbers 19, 60 and 63.

the first one i took is number nineteen: within

the next one i took is number sixty: red (i can’t figure out which one of the next two i like best. y’all have any input?)
then here is number sixty three: decrepit
maybe i’ll post a few more later. i’ve got to look at my pictures and see if i have any others.

#39: i am ready to begin my cork frame. well, not really. but i do have my very first cork! i got it while i was drinking with amy and joie at amy’s apartment. it was a fun night. amy pretty much played dress up the entire time (with clothes she just bought to go on a cruise) and we all drank! i got some great pictures too!

#43: i’ve done a good job keeping up with my bimonthly pictures. in the one above, i had just got home from work and had to run in my house from my car because it was downpouring! i think this picture was taken 4/3/09

i’m the above picture, i am all a mess. i’m trying to build a desk and take a pic all at the same time!

#62 and #66: i’m excited about this one, because i find it very challenging!!! i am doing another nablopomo! april 2009– but this one is difficult! see, i am combining my nablopomo and its theme: growing (up) with my daily grace in small things posts!…..and instead of listing five things i am thankful for everyday, i am listing one, and writing about it more in detail. THAT MEANS I AM DOING NUMBERS 62 AND 66 AT ONCE! wow.

#63: i am still doing excellent writing in my journal every week. its actually nice to see how much i have actually recorded in my journal. i am really glad i am doing this goal! oh, and i am on week 15!

#74: i am going to my first red sox game (of the year) in 7 days! yahoo. i’m sure i will post all about this on my other blog, and i can guarantee i will take loads of pictures to post on here!

#80: i am working on finding the perfect red lipstick. i did find one i *like*. i don’t LOVE it, but it is okay. i’ll have to ask amy for the name, because it is her lipstick. also, i think sarah might have taken a picture of me at some point the night i wore it out, so if so i will ask her to send it to me, so i can post it on this blog! BUT i have also found some AWFUL lipsticks that don’t look good on me. i have a family member who sells avon, so she got me this HUGE sample of lipsticks, haha maybe as a joke i will try on every red lipstick and take a picture and post it on here. trust me. with skin as pale as mine, i look like a clown sometimes!

#83: well if you read my other blog, you will know that i have recently got some possibly bad medical news. basically one of my issues is that i am extremely deficient in vitamin D. so since last week i have been taking thousands of mg daily. so, i am on day 8 of taking a vitamin daily for a month! lol. i need to do this to be healthy ūüėČ

#88: pay off credit cards. well, lets just say i am waiting on this one. i applied for a personal loan with an EXTREMELY LOW interest rate. i think i will find out the beginning of nest week if i got it. if i did, then i will be able to completely take the balances off all my cards, and then i SHOULD be able to pay my loan off within a year. how freaking wonderful is that??!??!

#90: i am also still working on trying to download my bills on a spreadsheet and budget. i am doing pretty well, but because it is really detailed i need to just sit down one day and enter everything… that way i will be up to date and pretty much done with this goal. then all i will have to do is stick to the spreadsheet and budget!

surprising myself

you know… i¬†didn’t think i was doing very well on this 101 in 1001 list.¬†i¬†was actually going to post a “i’m¬†sorry for failing miserably” blog when i¬†signed on, but then when i¬†went over my list, i¬†realized i am actually taking some pretty big baby steps. (go me!)

many of my goals are long term. for example, one of them is write¬†weekly in my journal for the entirety of the 2.75 years… so its kind of tough to “complete” that now. i¬†guess at the very end, i¬†will (hopefully) be able to say that i¬†have completed many of those long term goals.

anyway, here is my recent update for y’all. pictures will follow… i¬†don’t have my camera at work right now, so i will upload them tomorrow, and then update this post!

#9: i have been working on a bill system that i think is working pretty well so far. what i need to do is organize the past few years bills. i guess an average person is supposed to keep all their financial info for 3 years, so i have 2006, 2007 and 2008 bills to organize. i have been working on 2008, so that year is almost complete. once i finish organizing 2006 and 2007, then i will be complete. i will just have to make sure i keep up with my 2009 organization monthly.

#18 and 28:¬†i’ve¬†eaten at my 3rd new-to-me restaurant. amy¬†and i¬†went to a new sushi restaurant on mineral spring. at first i¬†loved it. its quaint and quiet and the sushi tasted wonderfully…..BUT then i¬†went to the bathroom, and the bathroom (as well as the hallway leading to the bathroom…which also led to the kitchen) was SO DIRTY. it was GROSS! after working at restaurants and bars, i¬†understand that things can’t be perfectly clean all the time. so i¬†can overlook messes here and there. usually i¬†am not the type to notice things like this. amy¬†always notices this kind of stuff, and will not want to go back to that restaurant. makes sense, but i¬†always thought it was a little drastic. anyway, back to the point. the bathroom was so gross that i¬†didn’t enjoy my food for the rest of the evening. i¬†don’t think i¬†will go back. which is too bad, because the food was so good, that i¬†would have gone frequently… but all i¬†can think, is if the bathroom was that gross, what is the kitchen like? and do the chefs wash their hands (the same hands which touch the raw sushi i¬†put in my mouth)? probably not. ewww.
#20:¬†one of my goals was to go camping with my friends. while i¬†obviously have not done that yet, i’m¬†beginning to plan it. YIPPEE!!! my friends are a hard bunch to make plans with. everyone is super busy and usually everyone has different schedules. so, i¬†february, i¬†sent an email out asking if everyone wanted to take a group camping trip this summer and mostly everyone said yes! woo hoo! now i¬†am going to research prices and then we will pick and pay for a place! sooooo¬†excited and i guess more on this later ūüôā
#29: so i¬†did continue to support an independent business last month. i went to a bar in¬†east providence (so sorry, i¬†can’t remember the name, but i¬†know it is on lion street, lol!) anyway my friend missy bartends¬†there, so me, sa, kerri¬†and amy¬†all went their for our monthly girls night out. it was interesting to say the least. there were a lot of ghetto people there. one guy tried to tell us we looked like snobs (i¬†think he was actually saying this as his own way to hit on us…) but it was fun. a dj we used to work with was actually djing there, so we danced the night away. we all also drank the night away, so it was actually really fun. it felt exactly like my sophomore year in college again! here are a few pictures of the evening!

43: so i’m¬†trying to take a picture every two weeks so that long term¬†i can see a change in myself in almost 3 years. haha.

this one above cracks me up! i¬†can’t even stand how awful/silly i¬†look in this picture. i¬†figure what the hell. i¬†might as well post “real” pictures of myself. it would be silly if i¬†posed for every one! this was taken the drunken night that i¬†wrote about in number 29. this is my “i’m¬†drunk, i¬†don’t give a shit, and i don’t believe a word you’re saying” face! it was taken 2/19/09.

this one was actually taken today. i¬†was at a stop light on my lunch break, and i¬†figured what the hell. most people hate my sunglasses, but i¬†love them, so i’m posting a pic of me wearing them!
i’m¬†not a huge fan of this one either…but it was taken at work on valentine’s day. i¬†was taking a picture of the cake i¬†made my clients, and then i realized…it is about time to take my bimonthly picture!

#46:¬†so i¬†bought the ring i¬†have been dying to buy in my favorite etsy¬†store!! i¬†guess this means i¬†completed this item… but i¬†want to buy as much as i¬†can from etsy… so i¬†am going to keep working on this goal even if it is technically completed. i’ll¬†post a pic just as soon as i get my nails done! it may sound insecure, but there is nothing like a pretty manicure to showcase a beautiful ring!
#63:¬†i’m¬†trying to write a handwritten entry in my journal once a week. i¬†try to do this on saturdays, because i’m¬†usually always working, and i¬†am also usually always posting a ‘stealing saturday” on my other blog. so i’m¬†trying to make it a habit. i’ll¬†be honest. i’m¬†not doing a very good job remembering this. most of the time i¬†forget my journal at home, so i¬†say that i¬†will write in it when i¬†get home from work… but never do. anyway. i¬†want to work harder on this, but at least i¬†have written in it 10 times (it should be 10 saturday entries), even if i write more than one a week to catch up!
#66:¬†i’ve¬†decided to be hard on myself for this one. i joined grace in small things about a month or so ago and did an EXCELLENT job in post daily. but then i¬†stopped for about a week or so. i¬†was just going to pick right back up on g.i.s.t. on #13 or whatever number i¬†was on… but i¬†decided that wasn’t fair. my #66 on this list says i¬†will write one thing (even though i¬†write 5 for g.i.s.t.) i¬†am grateful for every single day for 365 days. so i¬†am starting all over again. and i¬†will start all over every single time i¬†miss a day. i’m going to do this right. so today is GIST#1 all over again on my other blog.
#68:¬†when i¬†was scrolling through my list to see what i¬†had actually completed or worked on, i¬†was happily surprised by #68. i¬†forgot that this was on my list… and i¬†actually completed this item last week the best way possible! on march 4, 2009 i went to hope high school in providence, ri¬†to see JODI¬†PICOULT, MY FAVORITE LIVING AUTHOR, read from her new book and then do a book signing. it was my first book signing and the absolute best ever. i am still shaking with excitement about this. seriously, this was a huge event in my life. i want to be a writer like jodi¬†picoult¬†one day, so to meet her and hear her speak so conversationally to the audience was pure joy to me. she is such a down to earth, kind, intelligent, funny, normal human being. it was cool too, because her new book just came out two days before so i think we were her second stop on the book tour. it was still so fresh! oh i am so happy. and she autographed my book! ugh, joy, joy, joy! there was someone who used my camera to take a picture of me and her there, but the idiot did something funky, so the picture is just a blur. i’ll post it anyway though.

and that’s all folks! not too bad for an update where i¬†thought i was going to be disappointing! hope you are all doing well and you are happy and healthy!
