updates

#7- yes, i am keeping my address book up to date, so i’m just going to consider this COMPLETE!

#13- i’m working on organizing and printing my digital photos, but its taking some time. i really hope that i get to finish this before the 101 in 1001 goal project is over.

speaking of that, there is LESS than a year before my first 101 in 1001 goal will be finished. way too quick how did i get to the point where there is less than a year left in this project?

#28- here is another goal i’m just going to consider finished: support local artists, businesses, etc. i’ve found that the goals that work well for me in this project are measurable ones. how can i just keep reading over this goal every time i look to write an update. i honestly try to support all things local as often as possible, and i do well with following through. so for this project, this is also being considered complete. its not that i am going to stop doing local stuff at all, i’ll keep on keeping on. but its silly to try to track it.

#29- support one new to me independent business per month:
june- waterside grill on the docks in east greenwich, ri
july- lake pearl in foxborough,ma & the liquor store in mystic,ct
august- D&G deli in westwood, ma
september- sapphire in twin river- lincoln, ri
october- illsington pizza

#62 and 65- i’m soon to begin my final month of nablopomo. i’m going to attempt nanowritmo (i know, i know- shoot me. i’m overwhelming myself) so i’m hoping to actually succeed but i understand i’m setting myself up here. so lets all keep our fingers crossed. i’ll probably be putting all the info on my other blog, (which is brand new, have you checked it out yet?) so catch me over there…

#69- my 14th letter (of the 100 i plan on writing to friends) was to my friend stephan.

i guess all i seem to do is drink and eat

i’m kicking ass and taking names.

7) address book issues: well, i’ve officially taken my old, nasty, worn down address book and entered all the information into my computer. now its just time to buy or build an address book/holder of my own.

18) i’ve completed another item and it feels glorious! my goal was to eat at 20 new to me restaurants, and i did! i went to the melting pot in providence in the end of december (the 28th or 29th) with mrs. emerson, who not only is one of my best friends, but my old roommate. after going there i decided i want to cook all the food i eat for the rest of my life in boiling liquid although i won’t because it is not practical and then the twentieth restaurant was la tasca in alexandria on new years eve with sa, jim and amy. it was yummy in my tummy. both places were. i get so excited when i finish an item! i’m actually going to keep working on this item because i liked it so much. i will consider it complete for the 101 in 1001 challenge, but i want to see how many new-to-me restaurants i will actually go to.

26) another goal was to drink at 5 different breweries. i planned on going to one with friends while i was on vacation in VA. we decided on the shenandoah brewery in alexandria. well, we went and while i can tell you it seemed like a cool place, i can’t tell you much else. you see, they claim that its a place you can go and hang out and eat and drink while you wait for your turn to make beer….  but that just didn’t happen. we were there for almost 45 minutes waiting for something to happen. no one came over to us and took our order or asked us if we were feeling the itch to brew some beer. and when we went to the bar, we were told they’d be with us “in one second” and just flat out ignored us the rest of the time. maybe the just didn’t like northerners. and there were 4 out of 5 northerners there, so…who knows. anyway- since i didn’t get the whole brewery experience, but did spend some time there, i decided to consider it 1/2 a visit. i managed to go to another “brewery” called Hops that day, so i’ve technically knocked one whole brewery off this goal. the second place we went was more of a restaurant than a brewhouse, but the beer sampler was super cheap and the beer was pretty darn good. plus they had a beer with ‘alligator” in the name, and we all know how much i love gators 😉

update time!

well, i haven’t purchased it yet, but i found an address “box” i really like. maybe i can hint at getting this for a christmas present from someone. i don’t think i want the exact colors, etc. but for the most part, this is what i am looking for.

so the goal here is to frequent 20 “new-to-me” restaurants before the end of this project. and because i really like this goal, it’s almost done! i’ve actually finished 18 on goal #18! fun. because i’ve already written on a few of them before, i’m just going to list them here:
1) jackie’s galaxy in rhode island in august
2) yorgos in virginia in the beginning of september
3) lusitanno’s in massachusetts in mid-september
4) cafe dolce vita in rhode island in mid-september
5) caravellas in massachusetts in beginning of october

#28
frequent local businesses, artists, etc.
well, everything above in goal #18 counts here… also, i’ve went to like 4 local restaurants while i was in virginia, as well as norfolk wholesale where i bought all the flowers i used for my friend’s wedding. then i went to a sushi place i like in the area and also brought my puppy for her annual checkup at the vet’s office. oh, yeah… and i went to the dentist. (ugh)

well, i already finished this goal, but just to update… i’m going to perform in another monologue show! yay! it will take place in november. i’ll be sure to share more details or pictures if i can.

#46
shop more on etsy. well, i’ve purchased a few wedding gifts on etsy which i adore. i’ll try to take a picture of one and post it on here soon. but i don’t have anything yet. i’ve also been working on building a shop, but i think it’s going to take me a while to get there.

sigh…my time capsule. i don’t really know what to do about this- consider it a fail, or be lenient with myself? i didn’t get it finished before i turned 25, but i def. got started with it. i’m thinking i might extend it to be finished by the time i’m 26. that way it fully encompasses my whole first 1/4 of a century of living. any suggestions? is this fair?

keep on truckin’

here is a quick update..

#6:
i’ve been trying to simplify my life. and organize. all at the same time. so a of right now, i am working on my 5th bag of stuff to donate to charity.

#7:
while i have yet to buy an address book… i have updated my contact info in outlook on my computer. so, when i actually get a book to write all this stuff in, it will be an easy task to complete.

#13:
i have done a pretty damn good job of organizing some pictures on my computer. and that makes me very happy. i have a GILLION pictures, so i feel like this is a project i would love to finish soon. i’m sick of organizing pics. i just want them organized, printed out and then put in photo albums once and for all. but i still have a little while to go.

#18:
i’ve eaten at another new-to-me restaurant. a couple weeks ago me and michaela went to a restaurant we’ve both been wanting to check out: temple. it was nice. i wasn’t head over heels for the food…but it was pretty good. the atmosphere however was incredible! it had private booths and candles hanging from the ceiling instead of lights. i loved it.

#20:
so obviously i didn’t go camping this month, or i would have written about it. so i took that out of italics. there’s always next summer.

#24:
for part of my soon to be sister-in-laws bachelorette party, we’re taking her to a nearby vineyard for a tasting in two weeks. which is super exciting because it is one of the vineyards in the tour i want to do for goal #24 yay! more on this later.

#29:
my one new to me place per month for july will be a bar called the belmont. its got a lot of character. dark wood, low ceilings, lots of leather and a dim atmosphere. i might have made is sound creepy, but its actually rather chill.

#47:
yeah, not much to say. i have been crazy busy preparing for my brother’s wedding, and the time capsule project is totally falling behind. i don’t want to give up on this project though, because i really want to get this done. so, hmm. i don’t know what to do about it, but i am sure i will figure it out.

#63:
yesterday was my 30th weekly journal entry…at least i can keep up with something.

#66:
just finished my 135th grace in small things entry. i am kicking ass on those entries.

#70:
i’ve finished another book: “if i had my life to live over/i would pick more daisies” a compilation of stories and poetry about being a girl or woman at all stages of life. it was rather beautiful. the title is something that really motivates me. maybe i should ruminate on that and write something of my own. the only thing is…i really need to recount the books i own. i can’t remember and i’ve donated some. so its time for a recount.

#85:
i accidentally completed another goal without expecting to. while i am considering it complete, i didn’t bold it on the side just to leave it open again. i dove in my friends swimming pool, but i didn’t do any of my wild dives i used to do because it wasn’t super safe. ha. number 1, i had been drinking and number 2, while the diving board is obviously in the deep end- i’m sure its not as deep as a college pool. so item completed, but hopefully i will still make it somewhere i can really do some wild dives.

ugh. yes, still kicking my ass and paying off those credit cards. and yes, still kicking myself in the ass for even having any debt to begin with.
